Great American Dog Show 2024

This past weekend was spent in Schaumburg, IL at The Great American Dog Show. Both Basil and Terra were shown, and boy did they exceed all my expectations! The weekend was long days spent showing dogs and cheering on friends. This show is a lot for any dog, with lots of people coming to meet dogs and see them show. My expectations for the puppies was to take it all in and experience their first big show. Not only did they do that, they even pulled out some wins!

I'd like to thank all the judges for a great weekend (win or not)! Thank you to Judy Harrington, Edmund Dziuk, and Christine Calcinari.

Friday, 1/19:

Basil- 1st and Winners Dog for a point

Terra- 1st and Reserve Winners Bitch

Saturday, 1/20:

Basil- 1st and Winners Dog for another point in the all breed. 1st in the puppy show

Terra- 2nd in the all breed. 2nd in the puppy show

Sunday, 1/21:

Basil- 1st and Reserve Winners Dog

Terra- Not Entered

We've got a couple of days to rest before the next set of shows! Only one dog is showing per day, just to make it a little easier on myself. I'm excited to see what these two accomplish! Terra will most likely take a little break from the ring to mature a bit, this will give me time to focus on Basil before we hit the field this spring!
